Roger Carlson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and an MBA, both from Indiana University. In addition, he has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue. During his career, Roger has worked as a Math teacher and a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer. Roger is the single dad of an amazing girl named Mariana.
In 2015, Roger had a dream of writing a book about his adventures with his little girl Mariana. She was five years old at the time. He wanted to share what he learned from those experiences and how they made him grow. Roger searched for publishing companies to accept his book and, in time, decided to self-publish. In that process he came across Dr. Roseann Woodka who requested him to help her publish three stories about her dogs Dick and Jane. It was that collaboration that inspired Roger to start Mariana Publishing LLC. Today, Mariana Publishing LLC has published nineteen children’s books including three chapter books with several more in the works. Roger says, “It is a dream come true.”
The publishing company is named after his daughter because he says, “Mariana inspires everything I do.” The first part of the mission of Mariana Publishing LLC includes a desire to “Inspire Children of all ages to read”. Although the books are catered to boys and girls of all ages, Roger hopes to raise his daughter and use their business to positively influence other girls on several key fundamentals. First, young girls of all ages should value themselves the way they are today. Second, young girls should have a mindset of a winner. With work and determination they can accomplish whatever they put their mind to. Third, if you make others around you stronger then you become stronger. Fourth, be independent, confident and strong in life.
The second part of the mission of Mariana Publishing LLC says, “We publish our stories, let us help you publish yours.” As a part of this mission, Mariana Publishing seeks to find quality stories that they can help bring to life. As a small hybrid publisher, Mariana Publishing cannot afford to absorb the many costs associated with the publishing process so, in most cases, will charge for the work required. The World Famous ABC book of rhymes
"A well-written book that entices little ones to learn their Alphabet Letters and their sounds. Author, Roger Carlson, does an excellent job bringing rhythmic tones to the story. My little one enjoyed finding the characters in the story and matching them with the letters in the alphabet. Such a great book to read with your children. Engaging and fun! I recommend this book to parents, grandparents, and teachers."
-School Psychologist
"I like it because it can help kids that do not know the alphabet. They can see A and all the words that begin with A. It can help them if they do not know how to read the word Fox they will learn now after reading it with their mommy or daddy. I like the pictures in the book and finding the pictures that begin with those letters."

I Love you Daddy
"I love you Daddy is a touching story about a young girl and her father. The Author’s love for his daughter can be heard throughout the entire book. With each turn of the page, you move through descriptive memories of the young girl and her father. The memories are expressed with colorful illustrations and endearing words. Parents will be taken back to times with their children while new parents will be able to see that although there will be challenging times with your child, seeing them grow before your eyes will make it all worth it. A great book to read to your children. It will encourage families to spend more time together and create lasting memories." -School Psychologist
"The book “I love you Daddy” is a loving and amazing story. I love how the little girl tells of her adventures and talks with her daddy. My favorite part is where the little girl’s father is running late and she wants to talk to him so they go for a walk and she tells him all about her day. “I love you Daddy” is a touching story for children and fathers all over the world. Everyone loves their father. I think the book “I love you Daddy” is a wonderful story! The images look painted and beautiful! I think your book is awesome and I love it." 😊

A Celebration of Spring
"A beautiful story about Springtime. Author Roger Carlson provides the reader with a rhythmic tone that brings a sense of cheer. As the story progresses from descriptions of flowers in bloom to animals coming out of hibernation, parents will find many moments to discuss with their children about the season. While reading this to my youngest child, I further discussed with my daughter that plants go dormant and animals hibernate during the winter. This book does an excellent job educating children about Springtime, and I recommend A Celebration of Spring to parents and grandparents." -School Psychologist
"I like it because it was about Spring and it’s Spring here too now. I like how there are flowers blooming. The vegetables grow and you pick them and eat them. Some animals hibernate, I learned. First they hibernate and then they come out to enjoy Spring. I like how more animals come out. I like Spring because me and my sister go outside to play and don’t have to worry about what we are wearing. We don’t have to wear big coats and hats. I liked your book." -Child age 5
