Welcome to Think Ahead Kids Publishing. We believe everyone has an important message. Let us be the ones to help you share it with the world.
Thank you for visiting us. Let us tell you more about who we are. In 2020, when the world was asked to stay indoors due to COVID-19, Think Ahead Kids created a website to provide free and fun activities for families. We received significant interest in our site and decided to share the work of fellow authors. Marla Huehmer, the Owner and Founder of Think Ahead Kids, has written and illustrated books with her children. Her passion to support children and families can be seen on ThinkAheadKids.com’s website. Once you open up the site, you will see unique and delightful Storytime Puppet shows, the Celebrating Authors section, Author Spotlight videos, and more. All of this is designed to showcase the work of Authors.
Here we are in 2021, and we had a calling to further support up-and-coming and seasoned authors with our new division, Think Ahead Kids Publishing.
Welcome to Think Ahead Kids Publishing. Think Ahead Kids Publishing provides services that assist authors in creating books as attractive as those you find in a Traditional Publishing House. We commit to producing meaningful and high-quality work. We take pride in our work and are selective in the content that we choose. Authors will have full rights to their work and will receive 100% of the royalties.
Our Publishing House will review every submission and if selected we complete editorial reviews, provide support in the areas of design, proofreading, copyrighting, and printing assistance.
Our Vision is to assist authors in obtaining their dreams to be recognized for their work. We believe everyone has a voice and an equal opportunity to share their accomplishments with the world.

Luigi was born with the creative gene. He discovered his talent at the young age of 8, with the help of The Secret City; a 1980s kids art show. He hasn’t looked back since. As a result from graduating from Humber College’s Advertising and Graphic Design program, Luigi has a strong command of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator - two of the programs used for his illustrations. From creating storyboards and conceptual art, to full coloured illustrated children’s books, he brings a unique perspective to the work he creates...and he loves it.

After earning a BA in English and a secondary teaching certification, Dori taught high and middle school English and Science. She obtained her Master of Arts degree in Social work with an emphasis on Community Services. As a lifelong art enthusiast and hobbyist, Dori formally began her art career in custom acrylic pet portraits 6 years ago. Then after taking classes from Make Art that Sells (Lila Rogers), StoryTeller Academy (Arree Chung), Little Blue Mushroom (Kristen Balouch), and remembering her love of children's picture books-- she began her career as a children's book illustrator. Dori has illustrated her own self published books, including "Little Cat Needs Space," and "Little Cat Feels Left Out." She still teaches youth art and participates occasionally in art shows. Dori plans to continue writing and illustrating for children– and owning many cats!
Sara Westaway is professional artist, illustrator and author living and working in rural Dorset, UK. She divides her time between illustration commissions, large scale hospital decoration projects and producing her own beautifully illustrated Children’s Books. All of Sara’s work in inspired by nature and she explains her motivation for her new titles... “I began writing children’s books when my son started Primary School. He was a clever boy, but just couldn’t get the hang of reading. School was a nightmare for him, but he found solace and endless enjoyment from being outside, learning about animals and plants. I was determined to create books that embraced this natural interest in all things wild, whilst at the same time using these topics to help encourage early and reluctant readers. I am passionate about children enjoying the simple pleasures to be found just beyond the back door, and I hope that the books will spark an interest in reading and the natural world that will last a lifetime.
